Planning your wedding day is no small task—but at Oak Hill Farm, we’re here to help guide you through all the little details and unique touches that make our venue one-of-a-kind.
When you book with us, you get more than just a gorgeous space. You’ll also get access to our exclusive Facebook Group, where couples connect, ask questions, and get real-time advice from our team and others who’ve celebrated here before.
Here are a few of the most common questions we’re seeing right now from couples planning weddings in 2025 and beyond—along with answers from our staff to help you feel confident as you plan your day.
Q: Is lighting something we need for the reception? I’m looking into DJs and they mention they also offer lighting, but do we need lighting for anything?
A: Not needed—but some couples like to add colored uplighting for extra ambiance! The Pavilion is bathed in natural light during golden hour and already has plenty of ambient lighting for your late-night party.
Q: I need some help with setting up a Sunday timeline. We want the ceremony at 3 and then to have everyone sitting down for dinner at 5:30-ish. Is that too much time in between? Am I overthinking?
A: We usually recommend that cocktail hour be 1.5 hours or less! That gives your guests time to mingle, explore the grounds, and grab a drink—while also giving you space for post-ceremony photos without making the gap between ceremony and dinner feel too long.
Q: This might be a silly question, but are the string lights part of the Pavilion decorated as is? Or do people bring those in and do it?
A: Not a silly question at all! The string lights are a standard feature in the Pavilion and throughout the property. Twinkly lights are part of that signature Oak Hill Farm look—we love them just as much as you do!
Q: I’m trying to do my floor plan. I have 6 boys/girls on each side. What do people recommend?
A: We’d recommend a sweetheart table for you and the groom, with two harvest tables on each side forming a U-shape. Each harvest table can seat three people per side. It creates a cozy, intimate setup while still allowing good flow through the Pavilion.
Q: Is there a wheelchair accessible path to get to the aisle in the Woodland Forest? We have two people in our wedding party who will be using wheelchairs when they go down the aisle. I’m just curious where they would technically “start” to go down the aisle?
A: We can bring handicapped guests to the Woodland Forest on a golf cart, and that same path can be used to push a wheelchair. If the guest is part of the processional, once they arrive at the ceremony site, they can wait at the bottom of the stairs for their turn to head down the aisle.
